About the role.
McCain Foods Grand Falls Warehouse is currently looking for a Shift Mechanic to join our team.
What youll be doing.
- Reporting to the Lead Hand - Warehouse Maintenance.
- Responsible for Mechanical breakdown and proactive repairs of equipment including refrigeration equipment in the Distribution Center and Services.
- Observe equipment and component conditions while doing jobs and provide feedback as appropriate
- Provide all information requested on feedback forms as part of completing jobs
- Participate in Equipment Ownership program
- Comply with GMPs Safety and HACCP Best Operating Procedures
- Effectively use SAP system for work orders
- Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety
- Various work schedules and call-ins may be required.
What youll need to be successful.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
- Industrial Mechanic License an asset
- Would consider a Mechanic working through the apprenticeship program or someone with an interest in committing to becoming indentured or with certification in a related trade.
- Would consider an automotive mechanic
- Self-motivated individual with good organizing and coordinating skills with a proven track record
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Observant and detail-minded with a natural sense of urgency
- Above-average knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
- Experience with refrigeration systems and ammonia an asset

Compensation Package:$ -$ Starting at 26.61 CAD hourly Bonus eligibility Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
