GENERAL DESCRIPTION:As our Nurse Practitioner you will be a clinical leader and a primary advocate for their health dignity and quality of life. Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
**The position requires a Wyoming State Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN) with prescriptive authority and Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy certification.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of medicine and/or nursing including pediatric obstetrical gynecological surgical and /or emergency outpatient medical care.
- Knowledge of prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Knowledge of diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests.
- Knowledge of quality assurance methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of Public Health initiatives and outcomes.
- Knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
- Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to the profession and governing regulations for an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
- Skills in computer usage and use of electronic health records.
- Ability to work with and around WLRC residents including those who may display challenging behaviors.
- Ability to maintain current provider cards in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Skills in written and oral communication including the ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents staff families guardians and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:As required by the Licensing BoardCertificates Licenses Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the Wyoming Board of Nursing.Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to bend lift twist pull push etc. as would be expected to provide patient care and treatment in clinic and hospital settings.
- Ability to work directly with residents who display aggressive and challenging behaviors.
NOTES:
- FLSA: Exempt
- This is an At-Will position.
- The Wyoming Life Resource Centerparticipates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration and if necessary the Department of Homeland Security with information from each new employees Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
- A background check including the taking of fingerprints will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation Department of Family Services and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
