Boeing Canada Operations LtdBoeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager to join the Quality Organization working out of the Winnipeg Manitoba office.
As the largest composites manufacturer in Canada Boeing Canada Winnipeg boasts a workforce of over 1300 talented individuals and an impressive 800000 square foot facility dedicated to producing parts for all commercial airplane programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides Quality interpretation of requirements. Develop quality metrics design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual Company and regulatory requirements. Evaluates qualifies and supports production implementation of selected materials processes equipment and measurement systems to ensure conformance manufacturing readiness and producibility requirements are met. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Resolves problems and ensure compliance with internal and external customer requirements company policy and regulatory agencies.
Analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics to determine and improve process capability or product quality. Performs root cause analyses. Recommends and supports the implementation of corrective actions necessary to reduce or eliminate non-conformance to design specifications. Performs benchmarking and uses statistical methodologies to ensure specified levels of process capability are achieved maintained or improved.
Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product tooling and manufacturing designs. Reviews designs for manufacturability producibility testability and inspectability. Performs analysis tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Develop methods procedures quality plans and metrics to ensure quality standards and practices are met. Supports and facilitate flow down of Quality requirements. Interprets specifications in order to provide clarification for user organizations.
Designs implements and supports alternative and advanced verification methods and processes such as probing vision systems computer aided measurement systems sampling or statistical process control.
Conducts verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements.
Assists in the development of measurement plans programs and test procedures and performs data collection and analysis using a variety of metrology systems and software to support Metrology and Test Labs and Computer Aided Measurement inspection.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Winnipeg Manitoba location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field of Engineering and be registered or eligible to register with the Engineer Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as a Professional Engineer
8 years of experience in Quality Engineering or related environment
Experience working within quality systems (e.g. Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS) International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001) or Aerospace Standard (AS9100)
Experience in data analysis and statistical methods to support advanced problem-solving methods
Must be able and willing to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
3 years of experience within the aerospace/ aviation industry
Demonstrated leadership experience in a formal or informal setting
Experience with Catia V4/V5 CAD/CAMs software or related computer-based graphics applications or CNC programming
Experience in metrology composite materials and laboratory testing methods
Well-developed oral and written communication decision-making problem solving organizational skills and the ability to provide guidance and work in a team environment
