Basic Job Functions:
This position focuses on the engineering analysis optimization and long-term reliability of Cold Mill automation and control systems. While hands-on troubleshooting is required the primary responsibility is to apply electrical and control engineering principles to improve process reliability safety and performance. Able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including call-ins. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applied knowledge of control systems modeling tuning and stability
Ability to analyze electrical and control system behavior using first principles and data-driven methods
Experience interpreting electrical schematics control narratives and functional specifications Preferred Qualifications:
Drive systems and closed-loop motor control
Signal Analysis (time domain and frequency domain)
Understanding of power systems
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
Preferred Qualifications:
Siemens PLC and VFD experience
Knowledge of Cold Mill processes
Four-year electrical engineering degree
Human Machine Interface (HMI) experience
