Job Summary

MTU Maintenance Fort Worthis part of the worlds largest independent jet engine MRO company based in Germany providing aftermarket and OEM-licensed engine maintenance services worldwide. MTU provides maintenance from targeted hospital visits to complete overhauls on over 30 commercial aero engine and industrial gas turbine lines and has completed more than 18000 shop visits for over 1400 customers worldwide. Within this Global network MTU Maintenance Dallas provides hospital shop and on-site maintenance services.

Engine Mechanic LEAP Engine Modules (9Month Deployment to Hannover Germany)

The Engine Mechanic in a DAT Engine MRO environment is responsible for the complete lifecycle of LEAP engine module maintenance including modulelevel disassembly inspection repair reassembly and testing preparation. This position requires strong technical capability strict adherence to aviation standards and a commitment to safety and quality across all MRO processes.

This role includes a 1418 week training program in our Fort Worth Texas facility followed by a 9month deployment to our MRO site in Hannover Germany to support LEAP engine module operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

LEAP Engine Module Disassembly

  • Safely disassemble LEAP engine modules and subcomponents in accordance with OEM (CFM) and regulatory procedures.
  • Identify document and report discrepancies or damage during teardown.
  • Tag track and route components with complete traceability.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all LEAP components to prevent FOD contamination or damage.

Inspection & Repair

  • Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on LEAP module hardware using precision tools (borescopes micrometers calipers etc.).
  • Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to determine repairability and disposition of LEAP components.
  • Conduct minor repairs or prepare parts for external repair vendors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate compliant documentation of all inspection and repair actions.

Module Assembly

  • Reassemble LEAP engine modules following strict OEM specifications AMM/CMM instructions and torque/clearance requirements.
  • Install and replace seals bearings gaskets and consumables specific to LEAP architecture.
  • Conduct functional checks and ensure module integrity before engine test cell operations.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain a clean safe and organized workspace consistent with 6S standards.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean methodologies.
  • Stay current through required training OEM updates and regulatory changes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits (FAA EASA and other regulatory bodies).
  • Represent the company professionally with colleagues partners and customersboth in the United States and during the assignment in Germany.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Training & Deployment Requirements

  • Mandatory 1418 week training program at the Fort Worth TX facility focused on:
    • LEAP engine module architecture
    • Disassembly/assembly procedures
    • Tooling practices and safety
    • Quality and documentation standards
  • Mandatory 9month assignment in Hannover Germany supporting:
    • LEAP module disassembly and assembly
    • Module flow optimization
    • MRO operations and customer support activities

    Requirements:Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent (technical aviation degree preferred).
    • FAA A&P certification or equivalent (EASA Part66 etc.) preferred.
    • Powerplant license required at minimum.
    • Demonstrated experience with large commercial engines with strong preference for LEAP engine handson experience.
      • Military engine shop experience acceptable if module-level work was performed.
    • Strong understanding of engine systems module architecture and MRO procedures.
    • Familiarity with OEM LEAP documentation: CMM AMM IPC SBs and digital maintenance platforms.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and quality focus.
    • Strong work ethic reliability and demonstrated motivation for highquality results.
    • Leadership qualities including the ability to mentor less experienced technicians.
    • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally for extended periods.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to perform prolonged physical activity including standing bending and ergonomic tasks.
    • Must be able to routinely lift up to 20 lbs.
