Your mission
Champion a safe environmentally responsible operation by aligning policies with OSHA/EPA standards coaching teams and driving continuous improvement.
Imagine this scenario
A shipping associate has questions about clamp truck procedures. You reinforce the rules refresh their training and document the session. You then complete required mobile inspections brief new hires on safety expectations and meet with the Corporate EHS Manager to sync on plant priorities. An agency contact callsyoure the liaison prepared with accurate records. Before days end you verify adherence to Food Contact Packaging Safety per the SQF Quality Manual and GMPs and lead a compliance team huddle to plan next steps.
Accountabilities
- Demonstrate safe work at all times; promptly correct or report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Develop implement and keep current all plant and corporate safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure total compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Deliver training updates for shipping/receiving teams on lift truck and clamp truck safety.
- Coordinate closely with the Corporate EHS Manager on plant safety and environmental topics.
- Perform and document all required mobile inspections.
- Provide required training and lead safety-focused new employee orientation.
- Comply with Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements in the SQF Quality Manual and GMPs.
- Serve as liaison to government agencies and emergency responders.
- Lead projects and cross-functional compliance groups to continually improve a safe environmentally friendly workplace.
What you need to succeed
- High school diploma or GED required; experience in Quality Environmental Safety Occupational Safety and Health or related field required.
- Three years of related experience preferred.
- Fluent conversational English and Spanish.
- Strong with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook; overall computer literate.
- Competent in reading writing and basic math.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with technology/equipment used for environmental inspections.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment; comfortable with prolonged computer work; able to lift up to 25 pounds.
