This on-site role will focus on the installation configuration and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems throughout HQ Army Materiel Command (AMC) facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with A/V equipment installation and a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices. This is a non-recurring requirement to support new equipment A/V Installer will be responsible for installing and configuring audio-visual systems in various environments including conference rooms offices and operations centers. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Install and configure a wide range of A/V equipment including monitors displays microphones speakers and sound systemsPlan and execute cable runs through walls ceilings and floors while maintaining proper separation and avoiding interferenceTerminate various cable types including Cat5/6 HDMI audio cables and fiber optic cablesFollow manufacturer instructions and adhere to industry standards during all installation activitiesConduct comprehensive system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performanceTroubleshoot and resolve issues with A/V equipment and systemsDocument all installations with detailed System Acceptance Testing (SAT) reportsCoordinate with facility management and IT staff to ensure proper integration of A/V systems with existing infrastructureAdhere to all security protocols and requirements when working in government facilitiesMaintain inventory of installation materials and equipmentProvide basic training to end-users on newly installed A/V systemsEnsure all work meets quality standards and customer expectationsFollow safety protocols and procedures during all installation activitiesEducation and Experience:Required:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associates degree preferred2 years of hands-on experience installing and configuring A/V systemsExperience with various types of A/V equipment including displays sound systems and control interfacesDemonstrated ability to terminate and test various cable typesExperience with system testing and documentationSecret ClearanceRequired Skills and Competencies:Hands-on experience installing and configuring commercial-grade A/V equipmentKnowledge of different cable types and proper installation techniquesProficiency in cable termination (Cat5/6 HDMI audio fiber optic)Understanding of A/V control systems and configurationExperience with network switches in A/V environmentsAbility to read and follow technical diagrams and manufacturer documentationExperience conducting system testing and commissioningKnowledge of proper cable management techniquesAttention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipPhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions (standing kneeling reaching)Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to document work clearly and completelyUnderstanding of electrical safety practicesKnowledge of industry standards for A/V installationsAbility to obtain and maintain required security clearancesWillingness to work on-site in Huntsville AlabamaDesired Skills and Competencies:InfoComm/AVIXA certifications (CTS CTS-I)Experience working in government or military facilitiesFamiliarity with secure installation requirementsExperience with Crestron Extron AMX or similar control systemsKnowledge of video conferencing system installationExperience with digital signage implementationUnderstanding of acoustics and room treatment considerationsExperience with projection systems and screen installationsKnowledge of HDCP compliance and content protection systemsFamiliarity with IP-based A/V systems and networksExperience with audio DSP configurationKnowledge of ADA compliance requirements for A/V systemsExperience with large-scale operations center installationsAbility to work flexible hours as needed for installationsOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
