Job Description Overview:
Post-Press Operator Ihastheprimary responsibility to work in the manufacturing process of the organization. This position is responsible for safety quality and throughput. They are also required to perform laborious duties producing products in a timely manner either through a manual ormachine basedprocess. Post-Press Operator also has the responsibility (when requested by management) to train and assist any new hire employees with all standard operating procedures and/or best practices.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
Fast-paced production environment. Requires prolonged standing bending stooping lifting (weights up to 50lbs) and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate manufacturing equipment. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision to record prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers reports and computer terminals. The environment is not climate controlled. Equipment in the working area operates with the use of magnets which may interfere with cardiac pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).
This is a full-time position requiring consistent dependable attendance. This position is not exempt from overtime.
This role is on our 3rd Shift-Working hours: 10:00PM to 06:30AM in our Wooster OH production facility
Training hours: 6:30AM 3:00PM for 30-60 days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
GENERAL LABOR: 80% of position responsibility
At the direction of the Lead(s) Supervisor or Production Manager(s); complete all duties as assigned
Maintain focus on safety ensuring self and other team members are following safety policies and adhering to PPE standards
Must be able to perform at high level in all Post Press functions when asked by Management
Ensure all products are being produced to a high level of quality
Work at a pace consistent with any established throughput rates and/or cycle times
Remain engaged at all times either performing duties to complete orders or maintaining housekeeping/5S
Communicate all concerns issues or observations related to safety quality or continuous improvement to lead(s) or manager(s)
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or best practices
Appropriately manage timecard and schedule
Maintain a high level ofteam work
Perform Post-Press Operator duties in all areas of Finishing
EQUIPMENT TROUBLESHOOTING:10% of position responsibility
Communicate machine downtime to leads and assist with the repair as needed
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:10% of position responsibility
Identify and communicate potential process improvements assist Production Manager(s) Supervisor and Lead(s) on all improvement initiatives
Commitment to good communication between employees across all shifts to ensure process changes and improvements are implemented consistently and effectively
Additional Task and Responsibilities
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Work directly with the Production Manager(s) Supervisor or Lead(s) on special projects as needed.
