As a Production Control Scheduler at Impulse you will be the heartbeat of our production operations ensuring seamless coordination of materials schedules and workflows to meet ever-changing priorities and requirements. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules ensuring alignment with rapidly changing program priorities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering manufacturing and external vendors to gather inputs and adjust schedules as needed
- Prioritize and sequence work orders to maximize efficiency and maintain critical-path tasks
- Utilize planning tools such as ticketing systems Kanban boards and progress trackers to monitor and communicate production status
- Conduct daily stand-ups or production meetings to review schedules address bottlenecks and communicate any changes
- Oversee the flow of materials and components through the production process ensuring timely availability for machining assembly and testing
- Monitor resource availability including tools materials and personnel to ensure technicians have what they need to execute their work
- Adjust workload distribution to address constraints or emerging high-priority tasks without disrupting overall workflow
- Identify and address bottlenecks or delays in the production process implementing solutions to maintain efficiency
- Establish and maintain visual management systems to clearly indicate the status of parts and assemblies
- Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels including raw materials work-in-progress and finished goods
- Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to forecast material needs and prevent shortages or overstock situations
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency cost reduction and quality
- Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance production performance
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3 years of experience in production control manufacturing planning or a similar role
- Proven ability to manage complex workflows in a dynamic fast-paced manufacturing or R&D environment
- Strong understanding of production processes and the ability to create and maintain effective schedules
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- 3 years of demonstrated proficiency with production planning tools ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or relevant experience in manufacturing or production
- 5 years of demonstrated experience within the space industry standards and production practices
- 3 years of demonstrated experience in environments with complex machining assembly and external vendor coordination
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Kanban systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings BOMs and technical documents
