What success looks like in this role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Protection Administratorto lead the administration monitoring and enhancement of our enterprise data protection infrastructure. This role will focus on advanced storage and backup operations with a strong emphasis on Cyber Senseconfiguration security analysis and recovery testing within the Data Domain Vault-as-a-Serviceenvironment.
Storage Administration:
- Provide advanced support for SAN and NAS systems including troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues.
- Monitor system health performance and availability; verify hardware and server resource integrity.
- Manage user group and permission configurations and access protocols.
- Support storage allocation planning data restoration and offsite storage facilitation.
- Perform technical configuration changes and evaluate new hardware/software solutions.
- Generate performance reports and conduct storage resource analysis.
Backup Administration:
- Install configure and upgrade backup appliances and data protection software.
- Tune backup environments for performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Set up and manage data duplication pools and backup devices.
- Ensure replication between locations and perform system recovery and data restores.
- Conduct root cause analysis and support change/risk assessments.
- Handle high-priority incidents and support continuous process improvement.
Cyber Sense & Data Domain Vault Support:
- Recommend approve and implement Cyber Sense configuration changes.
- Maintain Cyber Sense operations and ensure concurrency.
- Define and execute monthly data recovery test sets.
- Perform and document monthly test recoveries of Data Domain-stored data.
- Provide daily operational support including escalation and investigation of security alerts.
- Evaluate and validate security items identified by Cyber Sense.
- Track and validate daily analysis; escalate incomplete analysis between replications.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- BA/BS degree and 6-8 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience in enterprise storage and backup administration.
- Strong knowledge of Data Domain Cyber Sense and data protection technologies.
- Experience with system monitoring performance tuning and recovery testing.
- Familiarity with security analysis and incident response processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
