Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the quality of patient care for all clinical services in accordance with the Agencys philosophy policy and standards of clinical practice through planning coordinating supervising and evaluating the services rendered to families by direct service staff. Responsible to the Clinical Director/Administrator and assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Clinical Director/Administrator. The Clinical Manager fulfills the role of the supervisor of Clinical Services under Section 19-13-d68 of the home health State regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages and coordinates all services rendered to patients and families by direct service staff under his/her supervision. Supervises assigned nursing staff in the delivery of services to patients and families consistent with standards of clinical practice

2. Assigns priorities to new referrals consistent with Agency policy and standards of clinical practice. Determines a workable case load for staff members using appropriate guides and criteria such as statistical reports territory to be covered complexity of cases average length of stay and level of staff expertise.

3. Participation in or development of all agency objectives standards of care policies and procedures affecting clinical services.

4. Evaluates clinical competence of assigned nursing staff and participation with appropriate supervisory staff in the evaluation of other direct service staff.

5. Participation in direct service staff recruitment selection orientation and in-service education.

6. Provides staff development activities to increase the level of competence and to promote professional and personal growth.

7. Participates in program planning budgeting and evaluation activities related to he clinical services of the agency; including participation in the agency Quality Assurance Program Improvement Plan (QAPI)

8. Participates in weekend/off-shift supervisory coverage.

Education: BACHELORS LVL DGRE

Other Information:

Required: Bachelorï½s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing at least one (1) of which was in home health or community health program which included care of the sick at home or a diploma in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with 5 years of experience one of which was in home health or community health that included care of the sick; and completion of 6 credits received in Community Health Nursing Theory or 6 credits in Health Care Management from an accredited college or university program or school of nursing.

Minimum Experience: three to five years.
