This is what you move:

We are seeking a visionary Creative Director (Creative Media Architect) for Google in the German market moving beyond a traditional advertising role. As part of the Creative Futures unit you will translate high-level brand concepts into innovative platform-specific and social-first media activations. Your goal is to create culturally resonant campaigns that go beyond mere ads and significantly impact culture.

  • Creative Translation & Media Architecture: You are the bridge between the Big Idea (originating from creative agencies) and the reality of modern media consumption. Your job is not to invent the campaign slogan but to explode that slogan into a hundred culturally relevant platform-native executions. You translate high-level brand concepts into actionable innovative media formats that actually stop the scroll.
  • Social-First Innovation & Cultural Impact: You dont just adapt assets; you build ecosystems. You lead the charge on Social-First thinking ensuring that Googles presence on platforms like TikTok Instagram and YouTube feels native authentic and culturally potent. You ensure we arent just filling ad slots but participating in culture.
  • Innovation Leadership: You constantly scan the horizon for the next in media - be it AI-generated content new commerce formats or immersive experiences. You operationalize these trends turning cool tech into tangible media opportunities for Google. You dont just watch the trends; you apply them to drive business results.
  • Platform-Ready Quality Control:You act as the guardian of Platform-Readiness. You challenge creative agencies when their concepts wont work on mobile and you challenge media partners to push their ad capabilities further. You ensure every piece of content is optimized for the algorithm and the user mindset of that specific channel.
  • Strategic Sparring Partner:You are a confident challenger to the client and external partners. You provide constructive friction - not on the core creative concept but on how itlives in the world. You push back on matching luggage (cutting a TVC down to 6 seconds) and fight for bespoke behavior-led executions.
  • Collaborative Architect & Team Enabler: You do not work in a silo. You act as the creative connector between Strategy Media Planning Activation and Creative Futures. You work hand-in-hand with the Strategist to ensure the insight survives the execution and you partner with Media Planners to turn a media plan into a creative canvas. You balance the different languages of these disciplines to ensure a unified potent output. Furthermore you inspire mentor and act as a strategic sparring partner for the Creative Futures team during ideation and development fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and relentless pursuit of excellence within the team elevating their capabilities and pushing them to their creative limits.

The following qualities distinguish you:

  • The Hybrid DNA: You likely dont fit in a traditional box. You might be a Creative Director who got obsessed with data and platforms or a Social/Media Strategist with a killer eye for craft and copy. You think like a creative but operate with the precision of a media expert.
  • Deep Social & Media Fluency: You have 8 years of experience with a heavy emphasis on Social Media Digital Content and Innovation. You understand the grammar of the internet the nuances of creator culture and the specs that make or break a campaign on mobile.
  • Translator of Creativity: You respect the craft of traditional advertising but you know its not enough. You have a proven track record of taking a Master Creative Concept and dissecting it into platform-specific narratives that drive engagement.
  • Diplomatic Challenger: You have the seniority and confidence to sit in a room with Executive Creative Directors and CMOs and respectfully challenge their execution plans. You can articulate why a beautiful piece of film might fail on TikTok and what we should do instead.
  • Tech & AI Curious: You are not just watching the AI revolution; you are using it. You understand how tools like Midjourney ChatGPT or Gemini can be used to prototype ideas generate variations and speed up the translation process from concept to media asset.
  • Language: Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is absolutely essential to navigate local culture and global brand guidelines.
