Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Coordinator (PBIS) to lead the development implementation and ongoing evaluation of the facilitys PBIS framework to create a positive environment that promotes prosocial behavior among youth. This position requires expertise in evidence-based behavioral interventions understanding of adolescent development in correctional settings and the ability to train and coach multidisciplinary staff in implementing PBIS practices consistently across all facility operations.

Job Duties:

Design and oversee a comprehensive facility-wide PBIS framework aligned with juvenile justice best practices
Develop tiered intervention systems (universal targeted and intensive supports) appropriate for the secure care environment
Create and maintain behavioral expectations teaching matrices and reinforcement systems that are effective and developmentally appropriate
Establish protocols for data-driven decision making and continuous program improvement
Serve as liaison between teams and bureaus to ensure a consistent approach
Coordinate with education staff to align classroom management with facility-wide behavioral expectations
Collaborate with direct care supervisors to reinforce PBIS strategies during all programming and daily living activities
Coordinate youth activities and incentive delivery
Establish and maintain systems for collecting relevant data
Analyze PBIS and corresponding behavioral data to assess effectiveness and areas of improvement
Prepare regular reports for leadership on outcomes fidelity of implementation and recommended adjustments
Use data to guide resource allocation and targeted intervention and incentive planning
Ensure PBIS practices align with framework standards and agency policies
Monitor fidelity of implementation through observations data review and staff or youth feedback
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary committees
Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in juvenile justice and positive behavior support
Provide initial and ongoing training to staff on PBIS principles and practices
Conduct coaching and modeling sessions to support staff implementation of PBIS
Develop training materials visual aids and reference guides for consistent implementation across shifts and departments
Facilitate regular team meetings to review behavioral data and problem-solve

Selective Preference(s):

Three years experience in a juvenile correctional facility preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening.

Current State of Arizona employees: In order to be considered for this position it requires acceptable performance history as demonstrated by not have been issued a letter of suspension or have been involuntarily demoted within one year preceding this job posting close date and have an overall rating of meets expectations or higher on the most recent employee performance evaluation.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function on the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license records checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.010).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
