The EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and be responsible for providing focusdefinition and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental Health and Safety plant that is consistent with Pactiv Evergreens (PTVE) corporate policies vision and values; and is in compliancewith local state and federal EHS regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive the development and implementation of EHS policies procedures and programs.
Lead the implementation and execution of the EHS Pillar for the Pactiv Evergreen Production System(PEPs)
Oversees plant safety portion of all regulatory audits both internal and 3rd party.
Implement the PTVE Environmental Health and Safety Management Technical Standards.
Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training asnecessary.
Oversee the reporting and investigations of any potential injury accident and/or health and safetyrelated issues.
Conduct water sampling and outfall inspections to maintain regulatory compliance.
Provide tactical leadership through proactively identifying areas of improvement development ofsolutions and then implementing to bring change.
Promote our Zero Harm culture
Oversee and conduct the necessary environmental health and safety training to support and enhancethe organizations safety culture.
Develop and deploy policies procedures programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the PTVE system.
Provide communication and training to plant management establish and maintain communicationsreporting assessments training programs and guidance.
Work with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise tothe engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects.
Have a relentless pursuit for injury prevention compliance and risk reduction.
Be capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EH&Sperformance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives business unit initiatives and local/siteinitiatives.
Review and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve EH&S performance.
Bring experience with innovative EH&S compliance and risk reduction techniques via employeeengagement behavior-based safety programs risk assessments and understanding of implementingmanaging and sustaining EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment.
