The Josie Harper Hospice House in partnership with CHI Health provides compassionate and dignified end-of-life care in a comforting home-like environment. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals facing a terminal illness and offer unwavering support to their families. We believe in holistic care that addresses physical emotional spiritual and social needs ensuring peace and comfort during lifes final journey. Our dedicated interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide exceptional patient and family-centered care.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
We are offering up to a $750 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
- Check-in with the outgoing CNA at the beginning of your shift to get a report on your patients.
- Conduct hourly rounds on patients checking vitals maintaining whiteboard information and assisting with care as needed.
- Assist patients with ambulation as necessary. This may mean helping them reach a recliner in their room walk to the bathroom or down the hall. Assist released patients in getting safely to their vehicles outside.
- Assist patients with hygiene needs. This can include a full bed bath an assisted bed bath or retrieving towels and soap for ambulatory patients.
- Help the bedside nurse with tube insertions such as an NG tube rectal tube or catheter. You may be holding a cup of water holding the patient or providing the nurse with supplies as needed and cleaning up after.
- Help the bedside nurse with any wound checks or dressing changes. This may mean holding the patient or supplies and cleaning up after.
- Change bed linens check patients weight and other tasks as assigned each day.
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Successful Completion of the 75-hour state-approved Nursing Assistant course
- Active Nurse Aide (CNA) license in good standing in Nebraska
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
