Job Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This role supports diagnostic imaging services during overnight hours and requires proficiency with CT imaging systems contrast administration and patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Shift & Schedule
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic CT examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols
Operate CT imaging equipment and associated computer systems
Administer contrast media in accordance with safety guidelines and certification requirements
Ensure accurate patient positioning and optimal image quality
Monitor patients during procedures and respond to clinical concerns appropriately
Maintain radiation safety standards and infection control practices
Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record
Identify equipment issues and escalate as necessary
Collaborate with radiologists nurses and clinical staff to support diagnostic accuracy
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
Active New York State Radiography license including authorization to administer contrast media
ARRT certification in:
Radiography
Computed Tomography (CT)
Compliance with ARRT continuing education requirements
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 1 year of diagnostic imaging experience
Proficiency with CT imaging systems (experience with advanced scanners preferred)
Strong understanding of CT protocols and contrast administration
Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging software
