Product Specialist (DeFi)

Koinly helps investors handle their taxes without losing their minds. Our goal is simple to describe but incredibly hard to deliver: a user should be able to complete their taxes in under 20 minutes.

Achieving that speed requires obsessive accuracy. As a Product Specialist youll get your hands dirty in the data: moving beyond just identifying bugs to truly understanding the why behind transaction mechanics liquidity pools and API discrepancies.

We are a remote-first async-driven team that values technical excellence and autonomy over meetings and process. If youre analytical technical and genuinely curious about the inner workings of blockchain youll fit right in.

What youll own

Youll be the bridge between our users and our developers ensuring our product remains the most accurate in the practice that means youll:

• Understand and solve user problems: Gather feedback to spot opportunities dive into reported issues to find root causes and help the support team tackle complex cases.

• Shape the product: Work with the product team to refine strategy based on user insights and competitor research.

• Ensure data accuracy and integration quality: Investigate transaction data for errors or inconsistencies and collaborate with devs to improve our integrations.

• Test and refine features: Perform thorough QA on new features before release to ensure they meet user expectations and catch bugs.

• Organize workflows: Use AI tools to automate processes and maintain a high-quality Jira board so developers can work efficiently.

What success looks like (early)

Within 30-90 days you should:

• Understand the product deeply enough to identify the top friction points for users.

• Be fully operational in investigating data discrepancies and API issues.

• Have successfully tested and helped ship improvements to our core integrations.

• The Benchmark: You should be able to use Koinly yourself for complex portfolios; if you cant map the journey its hard to fix it for others.

This role is a fit if

You have:

• Deep Crypto expertise: You understand liquidity DAOs transaction mechanics and the broader blockchain ecosystem. At Koinly were truly passionate about the crypto space so a genuine interest in cryptobeyond just Bitcoinis a big plus.

• Analytical & technical skills: You can analyze complex data and have a basic understanding of how to use APIs.

• A Meticulous Eye: You have a high bar for quality and a detective mindset when it comes to QA and testing.

• Tool proficiency: You are comfortable with Jira Excel block explorers and using AI tools to amplify your productivity.

• Communication: Fluent English and the ability to translate technical issues into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

• Collaboration: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including developers customer support and product managers.

• Adaptability: Willingness to learn quickly and navigate a fast-paced evolving industry.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with RPC nodes and/or GraphQL.

• Programming experience (Python JavaScript etc.).

• Knowledge of Solidity or other blockchain languages.

• Deep Crypto Fluency: You must have a hands-on understanding of transaction mechanics liquidity pools and how blockchains actually work. If youve never used a block explorer or handled a DeFi swap this wont be the right fit.

Our team is based in Europe so we try to work in the UK timezone but are flexible. Everyone is expected to work 40 hours and no more. We highly value people who can prioritise their work know what tools to use to work efficiently and can set up processes to amplify the impact of their time.
