Attendance & Education Welfare Officer – Large Secondary Academy – Manchester

A well-organised and improving secondary academy in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Attendance & Education Welfare Officer to join its established safeguarding and pastoral team. The Role
You will take lead responsibility for monitoring whole-school attendance identifying patterns of absence and coordinating targeted interventions. Working closely with Heads of Year and safeguarding staff you will support students whose attendance is causing concern ensuring timely and consistent follow-up.

The role includes conducting home visits where necessary holding attendance meetings with parents and liaising with external agencies including the local authority. You will maintain accurate attendance records prepare reports for senior leadership and ensure compliance with statutory guidance.

You will also contribute to whole-school initiatives that promote positive attendance culture including rewards systems communication campaigns and early identification processes.
