Due to the continued expansion of the performing arts programme the school is seeking a skilled and organised Performing Arts Technician.
The Performing Arts Technician will support the technical delivery of school productions concerts assemblies and events.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating lighting sound and staging equipment
Supporting rehearsals and live performances
Maintaining theatre equipment and technical inventory
Assisting staff and students with technical training and safety procedures
Managing backstage operations during productions
Coordinating technical aspects of school events and performances
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Supporting the maintenance of rehearsal spaces and performance venues
Assisting with equipment procurement and stock control
Providing technical advice to teaching staff
The role requires flexibility technical knowledge and the ability to work occasional evening events during production periods.
The Performing Arts Department includes experienced teachers of drama music and dance. The technician works closely with the Head of Performing Arts and production teams to ensure professional standards are maintained.
The department delivers multiple large-scale productions annually and participates in regional festivals and competitions. Investment in equipment and training is ongoing.
Experience in theatre sound or lighting technology
Knowledge of stage management and technical theatre operations
Understanding of health and safety in performance environments
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work flexibly including evenings when required
Positive and supportive approach to working with young people
Good communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding and professional conduct
