To support continued development and strategic growth the school is seeking an experienced and highly capable School Business Manager.
The School Business Manager will be a senior member of the leadership team responsible for the strategic oversight of finance HR premises and operational management.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading financial planning and budget management
Preparing financial reports for Governors and SLT
Overseeing HR compliance recruitment processes and staff contracts
Managing health and safety compliance
Supervising premises and site operations
Managing procurement and contracts
Overseeing risk management and policy compliance
Leading administrative and finance teams
Supporting long-term strategic planning
Ensuring safeguarding compliance across operational areas
This is a high-level leadership role requiring strategic thinking and strong organisational capability.
The SBM works directly with the Headteacher and Governing Board. The team includes finance officers HR support premises staff and administrative personnel. Systems are well established with digital financial management software in place.
Significant experience in school business or operational leadership
Strong financial management expertise
Knowledge of HR and employment legislation
Understanding of health and safety compliance
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage large budgets
Strategic and analytical thinking
