Mesa seeks a Structural Engineering Intern who will work under the direction of Mesa Senior/Principal Engineers Designers and Engineering Managers. The ideal candidate must be a rising junior senior or graduate student in good standing in an ABET accredited college/university with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point scale.
General responsibilities include:
- Apply basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design structures and structural components at power generation facilities.
- On a task basis assist in the preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation such as design criteria calculations drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with design team and other design disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Quickly become familiar with client and Mesa policies and business unit procedures complying with procedural requirements for document and deliverable generation.
- Willing to perform self-study in order to get up to speed learning industry-specific design principles.
- Not only perform quality work but also perform self-checks of his/her own work prior to submittal to senior Mesa designers/engineers.
- Manage personal task assignments.
