Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating a unionized skilled trades workforce responsible for all industrial facility maintenance operations. This role oversees electricians plumbers millwrights and pipefitters to ensure safe reliable and efficient operation of all building systems production equipment and infrastructure.
The Supervisor is accountable for planning and scheduling maintenance activities managing work orders through Maximo CMMS overseeing timekeeping through Kronos and ensuring compliance with safety standards and collective bargaining agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and coordinate a union skilled trades team consisting of electricians plumbers millwrights and pipefitters
Assign daily and weekly work schedules to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and company policies
Provide coaching performance feedback and support workforce development
Promote a culture of safety accountability and teamwork
Maintenance Operations
Oversee all industrial facility maintenance activities including mechanical electrical plumbing and process systems
Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed effectively
Prioritize and manage emergency and corrective repair work
Coordinate shutdowns outages and major repair projects
Maintain high equipment uptime and facility reliability
Planning & Scheduling
Develop and manage maintenance schedules
Plan labor utilization and resource allocation
Coordinate contractor work when required
Ensure accurate documentation of work orders asset history and maintenance records
Systems & Administrative Responsibilities
Utilize Maximo CMMS to manage work orders preventive maintenance schedules asset tracking and reporting
Approve and monitor labor hours and attendance using Kronos timekeeping system
Track KPIs related to maintenance performance downtime and labor efficiency
Prepare reports for management on maintenance activities and system performance
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards
Conduct safety meetings and promote safe work practices
Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or technical certification preferred)
5 years of industrial maintenance experience
2 years of supervisory or lead experience preferably in a union environment
Strong working knowledge of electrical mechanical plumbing and industrial systems
Experience using Maximo CMMS
Experience with Kronos or similar timekeeping systems
Strong organizational leadership and communication skills
Preferred
Previous experience supervising union skilled trades
Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Work Environment
Industrial facility setting
May require occasional off-shift or weekend support
Exposure to mechanical equipment noise and varying temperatures
