The Opportunity:
UCFs Digital Strategy & Web Applications team seeks applicants for a Web Applications Developer II. This role is a key contributor in designing building and maintaining websites and digital experiences that support universitywide marketing and communications. The Developer II will play an important part in the ongoing redesign and will create modern accessible solutions using HTML5 CSS JavaScript React Angular WordPress/Gutenberg and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. The developer will work closely with designers marketers IT partners and campus stakeholders to deliver highquality scalable digital products that reflect UCFs brand and userexperience standards.
The ideal candidate is a creative and adaptable web professional who thrives in dynamic environments especially during major transformation initiatives. They bring innovative ideas to life while working within the requirements of a regulated industry ensuring solutions remain compliant accessible and consistent with UCFs brand. They have experience building engaging customerfocused digital experiences and feel comfortable balancing visual design usability and technical development. They can own projects from concept through launch collaborate effectively across teams and stay current with emerging tools like AI to support troubleshooting and rapid prototyping.
Responsibilities:
Lead visual and frontend design efforts using tools like Figma Photoshop Illustrator HTML5 CSS JavaScript and frameworks such as Bootstrap React and Angular.
Design develop test and maintain websites web applications integrations and digital experiences using modern frontend and backend technologies.
Create accessible standardsbased and scalable code that meets WCAG/508 compliance and supports UCFs marketing and communications needs.
Collaborate with designers marketers IT teams and vendors to plan projects document processes and optimize CMS CRM and infrastructure systems.
Manage and enhance primary web properties overseeing code quality structure SEO structured data media and performance in an agile collaborative environment.
Develop and support APIs and webservice integrations that connect websites with other data systems and enhance dynamic content delivery.
Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to microapplications personalized experiences and AIassisted troubleshooting or rapid solutioning.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing modern responsive digital experiences using frontend frameworks such as React Angular and WordPress/Gutenberg.
Strong visual and frontend design skills with proficiency in tools like Figma Photoshop and Illustrator to create polished onbrand interfaces.
Background supporting enterpriselevel or customerfocused websites ideally within higher education agency settings or other regulated industries.
Experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS to build or maintain modern web applications prototypes or integrations.
Commitment to accessibility and usability including familiarity with WCAG and Section 508 compliance standards.
Ability to develop APIs or integrate datadriven components to support dynamic content and enhance systemtosystem connections.
Ability to leverage AI tools to troubleshoot issues streamline workflows or rapidly generate solutions for web development challenges.
