Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Acute Care Float provides direct patient care and clinical support across multiple acute care settings. This role requires flexibility strong foundational nursing skills and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety comfort and dignity.
Shift & Schedule
Schedule: Day Shift
Hours: 3 12-hour shifts
Typical Shift Time: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
Coverage: Rotating schedule including weekdays and weekends
Break: Includes a scheduled meal break
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing toileting feeding and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs intake/output and patient observations
Assist with patient transfers positioning and ambulation
Support patient safety comfort and infection control standards
Respond promptly to patient needs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
Assist with maintaining a clean safe and organized patient environment
Accurately document care provided per facility protocols
Float between units or patient care environments as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 1 year of acute care CNA experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in home health or community-based patient care
Ability to adapt quickly to different care settings and patient populations
