Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Behavioral Health. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care including assessment diagnosis treatment planning and ongoing patient management in accordance with professional statutes regulations and clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments establish diagnoses and develop treatment plans
Collaborate with psychiatrists nursing staff counselors and other clinical team members
Provide psychiatric health services education counseling and emotional support to patients
Prescribe medications in accordance with treatment guidelines
Order interpret and communicate laboratory test results
Educate patients on medications including risks benefits and expected outcomes
Refer patients for inpatient care in collaboration with supervising psychiatrist when necessary
Maintain communication with patients and conduct follow-up as required
Provide primary medical care services when indicated and within scope of practice
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience
Active New York State license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
