Tekberry is seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to support our client a worldwide designer manufacturer and integrator of precision control components company supporting advanced manufacturing operations focused on circuit card assemblies electronics box assemblies and ground support equipment. This role plays a critical part in designing implementing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency quality and scalability.

The Industrial Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including design engineering quality and operations to drive process improvements support new product introductions and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

Job Overview

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes workflows and production systems within a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical acumen hands-on problem-solving ability and experience supporting SMT programming and electronic assembly operations.

The ideal candidate combines engineering fundamentals with Lean manufacturing principles to drive measurable operational improvements while ensuring manufacturability compliance and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Optimization

  • Design implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes and workflows for:
    • Circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
    • Electronics box assemblies
    • Ground support equipment
  • Develop standardized work instructions from engineering drawings and product specifications.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Support process validation and optimization for new and existing production lines.

SMT Programming & Equipment Support

  • Program and support SMT equipment including:
    • Screen printers
    • Placement machines
    • Reflow ovens
  • Optimize machine parameters to improve throughput yield and quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment-related production issues and implement corrective actions.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
  • Ensure manufacturability and compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to address DFM (Design for Manufacturability) considerations.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or related methodologies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive defect reduction cycle time improvements and process standardization.

Fixture Design & Documentation

  • Design manufacturing fixtures using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and work instructions for manufacturing technicians.
  • Ensure process documentation aligns with engineering requirements and quality standards.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Experience working in electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles process design and quality systems.
  • Experience programming SMT equipment (screen printers placement machines reflow ovens).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience supporting high-reliability or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience designing production fixtures and tooling.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks and structured problem-solving tools.
