Work Hours: 35 hrs/week

Job Description

Network Specialist to assist client with implementation of Network technologies for key IT projects.
Relevant experience in routing and switching and deep packet inspection technology is required.
Consultant will be assisting client with architecture design planning and implementing changes.

Scope Of Services Network Routing Switching and Deep packet inspection:

TASKS:

Assign port for NetScout management ports and IP addresses.
Assign port for SPAN port to mirror traffic that needs to monitor.
Add tap links to the production path without impacting traffic.
Configure the SPAN port for port-mirroring.
Configure IP assignments for NetScout devices.
Validate packet capture on each device and set thresholds for alerts.

Mandatory Skills/Experience

12 years of experience in the field of networking routing protocols
Must have hands-on experience with BGP MPLS OSPF routing protocols in a large environment
Minimum 12 years experience in deep packet inspection technologies and roll-out of Netscout Infinistream

Desirable skills/experience:

nGeniusONE Configuration: Expert-level ability to build Service Dashboards custom Monitors and Alerting Profiles based on ASI (Adaptive Service Intelligence) data.
Experience in MPLS EIGRP OSPF iBGP eBGP IS-IS routing protocols
Detailed understanding of deploying management protocols (SNMPv3 Syslog Netflowetc.) 4 yrs.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Ability to work in cross functional teams; excellent attention to detail.
Experience reviewing project design and system documents 4 yrs.
Experience is designing including network architectural designs in MS Visio is desired
Familiarity with City of New York network infrastructure environments and processes
Advanced Packet-level troubleshooting skills. Must be proficient in deep-packet inspection (DPI) and decoding complex application flows (HTTP/S SQL DNS VoIP/SIP).
