BA Product Owner (BSE, SME, API Focus)

What we are looking for:

• We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner with strong Healthcare domain expertise to work onsite at a USA client location. The ideal candidate will act as a Business Systems Expert (BSE) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) owning requirements guiding product delivery and ensuring high quality API driven solutions.
• This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders engineering teams and QA with a strong focus on API requirements validation and testing across healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Product Ownership

• Act as the Product Owner / Lead Business Analyst owning product backlog and requirements end to end.
• Elicit analyze and document business functional and non functional requirements.
• Translate healthcare business needs into clear user stories acceptance criteria and API specifications.
• Prioritize backlog items and ensure alignment with business goals and delivery timelines.

Healthcare SME & BSE Responsibilities

• Serve as a Healthcare Subject Matter Expert providing domain guidance on payer/provider workflows.
• Apply deep understanding of healthcare concepts such as member benefits enrollment claims and integrations.
• Support solution design decisions as a Business Systems Expert (BSE) ensuring alignment between business and technical architecture.

API & Integration Focus

• Work closely with engineering and QE teams on API based solutions and integrations.
• Define and review API requirements contracts and data mappings.
• Perform or support API testing and validation (functional integration and regression).
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure test coverage aligns with business expectations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the primary liaison between business users product teams and technical teams.
• Facilitate requirement workshops backlog grooming sessions and sprint reviews.
• Provide clear consistent communication to stakeholders on scope priorities risks and dependencies.

Delivery & Agile Execution

• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning reviews and retrospectives.
• Support release planning UAT coordination and production readiness activities.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements quality standards and compliance expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain & Functional Skills

• Strong experience in the Healthcare domain (payer or provider systems).
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner.
• Hands on experience as a BSE / SME in enterprise healthcare programs.

API & Testing Knowledge

• Strong understanding of API based architectures and integrations.
• Hands on experience with API testing (requirements validation functional testing data validation).
• Ability to collaborate closely with QA and automation teams.

Tools & Methodologies

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with backlog management and collaboration tools such as Jira Confluence or similar.
• Ability to work effectively in a client facing onsite role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Product Owner or Agile certifications (CSPO CSM SAFe) - preferred.
