Project Overview

Client is seeking a Senior Information Security Architect with strong expertise in AWS cloud environments. This role focuses on designing secure compliant and scalable cloud architectures aligned with enterprise security standards and industry frameworks.

The selected candidate will lead AWS security architecture initiatives across multiple projects and collaborate closely with Product Owners and Enterprise Architects.

This opportunity may convert to full-time after six months though conversion is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

Lead AWS security architecture initiatives across multiple projects
Design and secure cloud environments in alignment with enterprise security policies and industry standards
Develop and review security architectures based on threat modeling and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as NIST and OWASP
Implement data protection strategies including encryption masking tokenization and access controls
Architect secure DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product Owners and Enterprise Architects
Design resilient high-availability API-driven system architectures

Required Qualifications

1. Public Cloud AWS Expertise

Proven experience architecting solutions in AWS
Strong knowledge of AWS services including Compute IAM RDS Resource Policies Networking Messaging Data Storage CI/CD AI/ML ETL Serverless ECS/EKS
Deep understanding of AWS security best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles
Experience designing secure scalable AWS architectures

2. Information Security Architecture

Strong background in application security and infrastructure security
Experience with:
- Threat modeling
- API security
- DevSecOps and pipeline security
- Authentication and authorization (AuthN/Z)
- Encryption and key management
- Data discovery and protection
- SIEM CSPM and CWPP tools
- Access controls and container security
Experience working with security standards and compliance frameworks such as OWASP NIST CIS FedRAMP ISO and SOX
Ability to design security controls based on identified threats and risks

3. Systems Architecture

Strong system design experience
Experience with API-driven and open-standard architectures
Knowledge of stateless systems resiliency and high availability design
Experience with system and SaaS integrations

Technical & Soft Skills

Technical Skills:

AWS Cloud Architecture and Security
Data security (encryption masking tokenization)
Threat modeling and risk assessment
DevSecOps and CI/CD security
Container and infrastructure security
Security monitoring and compliance tools

Soft Skills:

Ability to lead security architecture initiatives independently
Strong collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders
Clear communication of security risks and architectural decisions
Self-driven and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
