Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing general OB/GYN renal/pelvis small part transplant and vascular ultrasound studies on adult and ER patients. The role involves utilizing skills in abdominal aorta appendix gallbladder liver pancreas spleen 1st trimester OB bladder hernia ovaries prostate renal/bladder uterus vaginal superficial masses testicles/scrotum thyroid renal transplant studies aorta carotid color flow duplex lower extremity arterial and renal artery duplex. Additionally the technician will assist with procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis.
Location:Springfield Illinois United States
Responsibilities:

- Perform general ultrasound studies including abdominal aorta appendix gallbladder liver pancreas and spleen.
- Conduct OB/GYN ultrasounds specifically 1st trimester scans.
- Perform renal/pelvis ultrasounds including bladder hernia ovaries prostate renal/bladder uterus and vaginal.
- Conduct small part ultrasounds including superficial masses testicles/scrotum and thyroid.
- Perform transplant studies specifically renal.
- Perform vascular ultrasound studies including aorta carotid color flow duplex lower extremity arterial and renal artery duplex.
- Assist with procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis.
- Adhere to isolation precautions.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- ARDMS certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician
- Experience with adult and ER patients
- Experience with abdominal aorta appendix gallbladder liver pancreas spleen 1st trimester OB bladder hernia ovaries prostate renal/bladder uterus vaginal superficial masses testicles/scrotum thyroid renal transplant studies aorta carotid color flow duplex lower extremity arterial and renal artery duplex
- Experience with procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Knowledge of isolation precautions
- Management/lead experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Cerner experience
Special Considerations:

- One day of on-call per week
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD in order to meet fingerprinting requirements.
Scheduling:
- 4x10 Day shifts Monday-Thursday
- Schedule is Fri-Sun blocked.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
