Coordinator Nursing Clinical Compliance

Job Description Summary:

To coordinate and communicate clinical scheduling and clinical compliance for nursing students.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Serves as a resource to Nursing Faculty with regard to clinical placement scheduling and compliance.

2) Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations and Compliance for Health Sciences the Clinical Coordinator Nursing Faculty Department Chair and extra healthcare partners as needed.

3) Makes recommendations for clinical site utilization.

4) Creates coordinates and implement professional development activities relative to clinical placement and compliance for faculty and staff.

5) Acts as a liaison to clinical affiliates.

6) Provides assistance to the clinical coordinator regarding the identification of additional clinical sites and resolution of concerns with clinical placement and facilities.

7) Assist Department Chair in responding to external program approval and accreditation standards including reporting documents and self-study report.

8) Participates in special projects as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator and/or Department Chair.

9) Reviews and interprets immunization records.

10) Generates reviews and maintains clinical compliance document and report.

11) Enters confidential data into spreadsheets.

12) Serve as a liaison to clinical facilities and other nursing academic programs.

13) Attends staff meetings and other related college activities.

Knowledge


* HIPPA regulations and requirements.
* FERPA regulations and requirements.

* Clinical compliance programs related to health sciences in nursing.
* Academic and continuing education compliance programs related to Health Science.
* Immunization schedules approved by the state of Texas.
* Criminal background checks processes and procedures.
* Drug screening processes.
* Processes for tracking accident and exposure incidents.

Skills

* Maintaining and establish work schedule which may include some weekend and evening hours.
* Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy and working with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

* Coordinating clinical compliance activities
* Liaising with faculty staff and external agencies regarding compliance procedures and issues.
* Maintaining accurate documentation and records in relation to compliance programs.
* Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Technology Skills


* Use a variety of spreadsheet word processing database and presentation software.

Required Work Experience


* Two years related work experience.

Required Education


* Bachelors degree in Nursing. Experience cannot be substituted for education.

Special Requirements


* Valid Texas Drivers License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.

Physical Requirements


* Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
* Subject to standing walking sitting bending reaching pushing and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
