Job Summary

Fohntech Group are looking for a Project Planner to join their team in Belgium.

The Project Planner will support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data centre campuses by developing maintaining and controlling fully integrated project programmes. The role focuses on schedule certainty repeatable planning logic interface management and proactive risk mitigation within fast-track high-capacity mission-critical environments.

The Project Planner will work closely with construction design procurement commissioning and client teams to ensure programme alignment with hyperscale delivery models governance requirements and phased handover strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Development & Control

  • Develop and maintain detailed logic-linked project schedules from early works through commissioning and handover.
  • Establish baseline programmes aligned with contract requirements and hyperscale client milestones.
  • Produce regular programme updates progress assessments and forecast reports.
  • Perform critical path near-critical path and schedule impact analysis.

Hyperscale Delivery Planning

  • Develop planning strategies aligned with hyperscale data centre delivery models (building-by-building phased or campus-wide).
  • Integrate design procurement construction and commissioning activities into a single coordinated programme.
  • Support high-density repeatable build sequencing across multiple identical or near-identical facilities.
  • Plan around long-lead and high-risk equipment (HV plant generators UPS switchgear).

Interface & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with construction managers package managers and discipline leads to validate sequencing and durations.
  • Coordinate interfaces between CSA MEP ICT commissioning and client operational teams.
  • Support alignment between contractor programmes and client master schedules.
  • Facilitate programme workshops and look-ahead planning sessions.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Capture progress from site teams and verify against actual site conditions.
  • Identify delays constraints and productivity risks early and support mitigation planning.
  • Produce clear programme narratives dashboards and schedule performance reports for senior leadership and clients.
  • Support earned value and performance measurement where required.

Change Risk & Recovery Planning

  • Support assessment of change events variations and programme impacts.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery programmes to address delays or scope changes.
  • Maintain planning risk registers and support scenario and what-if analysis.
  • Ensure change is reflected accurately within governed programme baselines.

Commissioning & Handover Planning

  • Support development of commissioning IST and energisation schedules.
  • Integrate testing and commissioning logic into construction programmes.
  • Support phased handover strategies aligned with hyperscale operational requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing for hyperscale or mission-critical projects.
  • Ability to manage complex multi-interface programmes under aggressive timelines.
  • Confident working within strict client governance and reporting environments.
  • Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator able to engage site teams and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering Construction Management or related discipline.
  • 48 years experience as a Project Planner on hyperscale data centres or large-scale mission-critical projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (essential).
  • Experience working with hyperscale clients Tier 1 contractors or major consultancies.
  • Understanding of fast-track delivery phased handovers and commissioning-led programmes.
  • Experience in Belgium or European data centre markets desirable.
