**Job Description:**
The OB/GYN Nocturnist position entails:
- Delivering comprehensive inpatient obstetric care during overnight shifts encompassing labor management deliveries postpartum care and triage.
- Managing gynecological consults for acute cases that arise during nocturnist hours.
- Conducting urgent assessments and interventions for both obstetric and gynecological patients.
- Collaborating with a robust team consisting of 8 OB/GYN physicians and 4 advanced practice providers (APPs).
- Providing backup coverage and comprehensive support for complex cases in conjunction with multi-specialty teams present on-site.
- Facilitating effective communication with day teams to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care.
- Utilizing a fully integrated Epic EMR system for documentation of all patient interactions procedures and consults.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and adhering to safety protocols within the obstetric unit.
- Adhering to a flexible schedule of 612 nocturnist shifts per month to promote a sustainable work-life balance.
- Actively contributing to a culture centered on high-quality patient-centered care aimed at improving patient outcomes.
- Responding swiftly to emergency obstetric situations including maternal or fetal complications as part of rapid response efforts.
- Providing mentorship and training to residents or APPs during nocturnist shifts when applicable.
- Participating in hospital committee work or driving improvements in overnight processes as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- Board Certified in OB/GYN
- Colorado medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean malpractice history
- Current NPDB Self Query Report (within the last 30 days)
- DEA registration (must be secured prior to start)
**Certification Requirements:**
- Board Certified
**State License Requirements:**
- Colorado
**Additional License Requirements:**
- Malpractice coverage provided; continuing medical education (CME) allowance included.
