As a Locum MD in Anesthesiology you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality anesthetic care and support during surgeries. This position is ideal for an associate-level medical professional looking to expand their experience in a specialized field while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Monitor patients vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed
- Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and consultations
- Provide post-anesthesia care and support to patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology and best practices
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in Anesthesiology
- Current and valid medical license to practice in the state of Illinois
- Experience in Cardiac Anesthesiology preferred
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and protocols
- Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts
Bread & butter cardiac cases (CABG AVR mitral valves occasional aortic dissections and occasional aortic cases)
Must be skilled with thoracic anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
