Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for its Norfolk VA location. The Operations Manager will contribute to the companys success by overseeing a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies sub-assemblies or end products.
Essential Functions:
- Understand and effectively communicate production goals.
- Drives performance against key metrics including Work Order Attainment Master Schedule Attainment Customer On Time Delivery and Direct Labor Utilization.
- Follow an engineered assembly process and maintain consistent quality and productivity levels.
- Monitor production yields manage daily/weekly failure trends throughout all processes lead yield improvement activities.
- Understand communicate and enforce safety regulations and requirements.
- Lead and/or facilitate Lean/Continuous Improvement efforts and incorporate continuous improvement into the Manufacturing organization.
- Continually review and enforce the use and maintenance of work instructions routers logs training matrix calibration requirements and company procedures.
- Serve as an employer advocate (role model) positively promoting the company image and appropriately identify address or direct concerns that may have a negative impact to culture of the organization.
- Keep detailed record of personnel performance and provide periodic feedback for subordinates including recognition of strengths and opportunities for improvement write and present annual performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Experience following an engineered assembly process and maintaining consistent quality and productivity levels.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Products (Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and measurement systems.
- Understanding of and experience working with root cause problem solving methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to isolate a problem and work toward resolution.
- ERP system knowledge.
