Integrated Foods Group is an international food processing and agricultural business operating large-scale farming and boutique lamb processing sites across Gisborne and Napier.
We are seeking a People and Safety Advisor to join our team at Fresh Meats NZ in Napier a boutique lamb processing site producing premium quality products for domestic and international markets. This is a hands-on influential role where you will play a key part in shaping a strong safety culture supporting people leaders and building capability across the site.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager and working closely with site leadership this role provides both strategic and operational support across health and safety HR generalist activities training and development and employee engagement.
About the role
The People and Safety Advisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining company health and safety systems providing practical HR advice and coordinating training and development initiatives that support current operational needs and future capability. This role is site based and works closely with managers and teams across the business.
Key responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Provide advisory oversight and coordination of site health and safety systems and procedures
- Support compliance with relevant legislation and company standards
- Promote a proactive safety culture across the site
People & HR Support
- Provide HR generalist advice and support to managers and employees
- Support employee engagement initiatives and people-related projects
- Work collaboratively with the Group People and Safety team
Learning & Development
- Support the development and implementation of the site training and development strategy
- Coordinate and deliver training and development activities
- Support and guide department managers and workplace trainers
About you
You will bring a practical people-focused approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced operational environment. Ideally you will have:
- Experience in a health & safety and/or HR generalist role preferably within manufacturing processing or a similar environment
- Knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation
- Strong relationship-building and coaching skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider group team
