Job Summary

SUPERINTENDENT SEARCHThe Mapleton Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of superintendent. It is expected the new superintendent will take office on or before August 1 2026.LEADERSHIP CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONSThe Mapleton Local School District Board of Education has identified the following qualifications as having particular importance for the position of superintendent. The candidate must be committed to the highest personal and professional standards and exhibit leadership in the district and community. The individual must maintain integrity and high standards of ethics in all matters. Among other attributes sought the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Understanding of and appreciation for the unique needs and strengths of rural schools;
Ability to lead a shared vision focused on continuous improvement high expectations and success for all students;
Strong instructional leadership grounded in student achievement data-informed decision-making and effective teaching and learning practices;
Demonstrates financial leadership including school funding budgeting levy planning and long-term fiscal forecasting;
Effective communicator and collaborator with the Board of Education administrators staff families and the community.
