The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources technology and business for the purpose of soliciting alumni donor engagement donor research and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. Our mission is to inspire and steward meaningful lasting relationships that elevate engagement and giving to fulfill Emorys mission to serve humanity. We are currently seeking a Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving Data Production and Reporting.
The Annual Giving team produces broad multi-channel marketing and solicitation campaigns for Emory constituents. As annual giving fundraising strategists they seek to acquire reactivate renew and upgrade donors at the annual giving ($1-$999) and leadership annual giving ($1000-$24999) levels. The team engages and invites constituents to invest in the mission of Emory with the goal of building lifelong philanthropic relationships with the university and health system and donor pipeline for advancement officers. The Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving- Data Production and Reporting is responsible for submitting the data criteria for solicitation lists reviewing data for accuracy and producing reports for annual giving campaigns. This position serves as the primary annual giving liaison to operations teams including advancement analytics advancement systems and portfolio management. The associate director uses campaign reports and data visualization tools to understand donor behavior and giving trends. The associate director uses these donor insights to optimize direct marketing strategies and drive donor pipeline for university and healthcare advancement programs. This position will report to the Managing Director of Annual Giving.
This position designs and implements annual giving solicitation and stewardship plans marketing and volunteer fundraiser toolkits and other communication materials that support Advancement and Alumni Engagements annual giving revenue donor participation and donor pipeline goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs and implements annual giving solicitation and stewardship plans marketing and volunteer fundraiser toolkits and other communication materials that support Advancement and Alumni Engagements annual giving revenue donor participation and donor pipeline goals.
- Determines goals strategies and target audiences for solicitations.
- Oversees solicitations that may include direct mail donor and volunteer engagement phone and text solicitation and digital fundraising (e.g. crowdfunding email and organic social posts).
- Acts as a strategic partner for a subset of Emorys schools and units to identify and implement fundraising campaigns for priority programs. Reviews content development for annual giving programs and solicitations.
- Ensures messaging is consistent with campaign strategies and customized for segmented audiences.
- Requests and approves audience data and merge fields for solicitations.
- Manages annual giving campaign and appeal records in Emorys CRM evaluates results and produces reports.
- Implements annual giving strategies based on data-driven evaluation industry trends and innovative pilot tactics.
- Provides customer service for annual giving inquiries and conducts personal outreach to annual giving donors when needed.
- Follows annual giving policies and business practices.
- May manage a board and engage volunteers for annual giving programs.
- May supervise student interns who implement specific giving programs.
- Performs other duties as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
In addition to the duties outlined above the Senior Associate Director may be required to:
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards to evaluate giving patterns inform on data-driven strategies for solicitation campaigns and achieve annual giving goals such as donors revenue and pipeline donor growth.
Partner cross-functionally with operations teams such as Technology and Business Intelligence to translate annual giving marketing plans into data criteria for direct response and specialty campaigns. - Collaborate with Advancement Analytics to use data visualization tools and propensity models for donor acquisition especially for grateful patients and leadership annual giving prospects.
- Advise on A/B testing in direct marketing approaches to optimize messaging and audiences and document results.
- Understand industry trends and identify strategic opportunities for predictive modeling and AI automation within annual giving.
- Participate in the strategic planning process and track progress toward achieving project goals for the department.
- Assess create and implement new or improved processes for department functions/initiatives.
- This position requires coming in person two days a week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelors degree and four years experience in fundraising data evaluation and interpretation non-profits or related field OR an equivalent combination of experience education and/or training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational analytical written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with ambiguity and navigate a complex work environment.
- Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite database and project management software data manipulation and reporting software and CRM systems.
- Advanced technical skills like SQL and statistical analysis are not required.
- Prior experience in advancement fundraising alumni engagement non-profit or a university setting.
- Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
