Our client is Irelands leading builders merchant providing a wide range of building materials plumbing supplies and DIY products. With a nationwide network of branches they serve both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts. Known for exceptional customer service and expert advice they offer high-quality products and are a trusted partner for construction and home improvement projects across the country.

Our client is now seeking a senior trade counter sales associate to join their team in Galway.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting customers in-store and handling phone inquiries as needed.

Developing strong customer relationships to better understand their needs.

Spotting sales opportunities and providing tailored advice to maximize sales.

Gaining and applying extensive knowledge of building materials to assist customers.

Keeping the store well-organized and visually appealing.

Supporting inventory tasks such as counting and stocktaking.

Coordinating with Warehouse and Yard teams to ensure orders are processed efficiently.

Addressing additional tasks to support daily operations when required.

Adhering to operational guidelines and health and safety standards.

Knowledge & Experience Required

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

At least 3 years of experience in retail or a builders merchant.

Demonstrated success in meeting and surpassing sales and margin goals.

Familiarity with DIY products and construction materials.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

A positive proactive attitude.

Proficient with computers.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8 hour shift
Hourly Rate: 14.50 Plus overtime 1 1/2
Work Location: In person
