Advanced Practice Provider Casual Pediatrics Hospital Medicine

Nemours Childrens Health is hiring a casual Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Hospital Medicine to provide direct and indirect care to patients and their families inpatient at Studer Family Childrens Hospital.

This casual position will help cover associates on PTO FMLA or sick days.

Must be capable of self-directed independent and collaborative practice. Strong communication and inter-professional skills are required as this role is a critical liaison between medical teams nursing teams andfamilies.

Essential Functions:

• Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality healthcare to children.
• Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission.
• Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
• May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so. Collaborates inter-professionally as needed. Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
• Assists the Staff Nurse in formulating the Nursing Care Plan and setting priorities based on the needs of patient and family.
• Documents patient care and progress on patients chart.
• Coordinates Nursing Plan for Discharge in collaboration with the Staff Nurse and other members of the health care team.
• Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.
• Evaluates compliance with the prescribed treatment regimen through telephone calls family/patient assessments and outpatient visits as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Active license as a Physician Assistant in the State ofFlorida

OR

• ActiveAdvanced Practice Nurse Licensure/Physician Assistant Licensure with or without prescriptive authority
• Current AHA BLS
• Minimum of one year relevant experience required.
