The University of Washington Medical Center Northwest Physical Therapy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Physical Therapist - Inpatient.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-Time / 40Hours Per Week

  • Day Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • This role performs physical therapy treatments and related duties as prescribed by an MD DO DDS PA ARNP podiatrist chiropractor or naturopathic physician. Assigned patients may be hospital inpatients

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans and Evaluates Care includes but is not limited to:

  • Review physicians referral and patients medical record reviews diagnosis and determines therapy treatment required.

  • Evaluate and monitor patients progression and makes appropriate adjustments to treatment plan to achieve maximum benefit.

  • Prior to therapy intervention perform and document an initial exam and evaluate data and diagnosis to identify problems.

  • Administer position and exercises massage and other treatments (including use of special equipment) to relieve pain increase flexibility and strength and/or decrease patients disability.

  • Perform wound care and wound debriment per physician order if certified to do so.

  • Follow established procedures and observes all safety precautions in the application and the use of heat cold light water sound message debriment and electrical stimulation.

  • Train patients in exercises ambulation and activities of daily living.

  • When appropriate establish a home program to encourage patient involvement and independence.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Four to seven years of university study which leads to a baccalaureate Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an American Physical Association-approved school.

OR

equivalent education and/or experience

LICENSE REQUIRED

Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$49.30 hourly
