The Lead Engineer supports the engineering department and the company toward their primary objectives based on long-term product and growth goals by performing the following duties independently. This position will report to the Director of Engineering. This role will also require a player-coach mentality where the successful candidate will be both strategic and tactical in their work activities and interactions with the team. Supervise and assist with all engineering activities: simulation and theoretical computations new technology platforms new product development and improvement and engineering lab activities. This is an on-site full-time opportunity that requires daily presence during normal business hours at Aspen Manufacturing in Humble Texas.
Job Responsibilities
Influences department activities to design new technology platforms by providing engineering leadership and technical oversight
Coordinate technical development including scope testing simulations and proof-of-concept builds with management engineering and operations
Uses creativity foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems. Works with downstream functions (supply chain manufacturing etc.) to resolve internal and external issues
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree
Five years of related experience
Preferred Requirements:
Previous management or leadership experience
Advanced engineering degrees
The ideal candidate must have a successful history of HVAC product experience in a manufacturing environment
Competencies/Skills:
Project management effective time management and prioritization
Effective at working in teams towards a time-bound set of goals and deliverables
Superior technical knowledge of including but not limited to vapor compression cycle hydronic cooling and heating electrical wiring and controls
Excellent communication skills
Root cause analysis with a solution-oriented mindset
Continuous improvement mindset
Ability to be hands-on as well as delegate where needed
Work Environment:
Office: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. Occasionally the employee will be exposed to a warehouse environment and will be required to wear appropriate PPE. The physical and mental demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
