Job Summary:
The Sales Support Engineer provides crucial assistance to the engineering and sales teams by conducting engineering designs process evaluations and financial analyses during project development. This role is responsible for generating take-off plans and specifications preparing estimates and proposals and supporting the sales effort by engaging with potential clients when required. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background and hands-on experience in sales/engineering support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and sales support to the engineering and sales teams during pre-sales and project development phases.
- Conduct engineering design assessments and process evaluations to support project feasibility.
- Perform financial analysis to determine project cost estimates and profitability.
- Generate accurate take-off plans drawings and specifications for bids and proposals.
- Develop and write complete estimates and proposals based on client requirements and project scope.
- Engage with potential customers as directed by sales managers to provide technical expertise or clarify project details.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless project handover and execution.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all design analysis and proposal activities.
Educational Qualifications:
- University degree in Engineering Business or related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a sales support engineering or technical role.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and financial analysis.
- Proficient in creating technical specifications drawings and estimates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desired Profile:
- Experience supporting sales teams in an engineering environment is preferred.
- Comfortable interacting with clients and presenting technical information.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to dynamic work environments.
