Job Description:
The Sun Life Health (SLH) business within Sun Life Canada is a leading provider of Group Benefits and Health Solutions. A market leader in the advancement of workplace mental health across Canada through the introduction of new tools such Virtual Care and Stress Management and Well-Being program providing members access to mental health and medical specialists 24/7. SLH is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its fast-paced and energetic Finance team.
Reporting to the Manager Financial Controls the Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in executing and supporting control activities critical to the Sun Life Health business.
What will you do
Prepare account reconciliations ensuring they are accurate and meet Sun Life account reconciliation standards.
Identify investigate and resolve differences in reconciliations in collaboration with business partners.
Support internal and external audits.
Validate improve and document key business processes and controls.
What do you need to succeed
Relevant prior experience with reconciliations audit financial reporting and/or internal controls.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (including Excel Word Access and PowerPoint).
Understanding of IFRS and SOX controls relevant to the insurance industry.
Self-motivated results-oriented and flexible to changing priorities and timelines.
Proven technical analytical and problem-solving skills.
As a condition of the role the successful candidate must be able to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life.
Preferred:
Previous experience with Frontier (or other reconciliation tools) and SAP is an asset.
CPA or other relevant designation is considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
