The primary purpose of this position is the complete assembly or disassembly of gas turbine and compressor packages and related sub-assemblies and related parts
High School Diploma or GED (OR 10 years of relevant Gas Turbine and Compressor experience).
5 years of relevant experience in Assembly of Rotating Equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred expertise in client turbomachinery equipment assembly including:
o SGT 100 400
o A 35 / A 65 Gas Turbine and compressor packaging
o RF and Datum range turbo compressors
Skilled in developing and interpreting technical assembly instructions building methods and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries.
Ability to inspect repair replace install and maintain mechanical components and assemblies for gas turbines and compressor packages.
Able to work collaboratively with Engineering QC Material Control and production crafts.
You must maintain and comply with all EHS standards.
Experience performing alignments parts installation measurements and machining adjustments to meet required tolerances ( 0.001).
Ability to use micrometers indicators hand tools air grinders and overhead lifting devices.
Level bases.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored authorization.

Your Responsibilities
Perform all work in compliance with client safety standards and procedures.
Review and interpret complex assembly instructions specifications and blueprints.
Inventory clean stage and visually inspect components to prepare for assembly.
Safely offload and handle parts using proper rigging/lifting equipment.
Assemble structural components for SGT 100 400 A 35/A 65 and associated compressor packages using approved tools and methods.
Take precision measurements and adjust meet required tolerances document all measurement results.
Identify issues or deviations and notify management or engineering.
Perform and document simple maintenance cleaning and minor repairs according to specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and management to refine assembly best practices.
Train and mentor less experienced Assembly Technicians.
Make part adjustments using machining techniques as required.
Crosstrain and assist in test and packaging departments as needed.
Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
Follow all company work instructions and quality control program requirements.

Tools used include but are not limited to hand tools of various types and size precision measurement tools including bore scopes specialty torquing and bolt stretching tools including heating devices material handling devices numerous standard and conventional PPE devices material handling equipment Work from manufacturing information drawings specifications operating procedures written and/or verbal instructions. With supervision and technical staff develop assembly sequencing and procedures. Perform cleaning assembly fitting and preservation activities for engine sub-assembly and final assembly operations. Activities include bore scoping loads/ unloads parts using forklift and material handling device during assembly and/or assists crane operators. Works according to client values procedures and policies. Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities team player provides assistance to co-worker i.e.: Training handling and /or measurements etc. Completes detailed records and other information as required by systems. (Operator verification product identification identification.) Maintains own work area preventative maintenance cleans and returns tooling attachments fixtures tables proper location upon completion of operation. Assist quality organization with measuring testing charting of operational information and/or recording data. Follows client established procedures to operate machinery/equipment. Performs a variety of in-process and integrity checks. (electronic or manual) as required in order to maintain specific drawing tolerances. Job duties require the equivalent of a high school education with a basic knowledge of shop mathematics and operations together with the use of complicated drawings specifications charts tables various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in this particular or specialized occupation. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training such as use of blueprints electrical schematics etc. Must be able to use close tolerance measuring devices (calipers gauges micrometers etc.) and be able to perform measurement conversions read write understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions. Must have the ability to complete forklift and crane operator certifications. Two years of employment in a related trade would be beneficial. Must have 2 - 4 years of experience in process procedures operations and the various tools and equipment used in the product mix associated with the job. Requires the use of judgment and acquired job knowledge in order to comply with instructions and standard procedures and instructions when planning performing and making decisions as to the sequence of setups and operations being performed. Can require a high level of creativity or ingenuity to propose workarounds and fixes to very non- standard situations which can be presented by non-conforming parts and changing schedule demands. Equipment used: forklifts Jib cranes computer chains straps hoists; acetylene equipment electronic and other precision measuring instruments; bore scopes and cameras bolt stretching and tightening various hand tools etc. Damage associated with incorrect use of the equipment would include delays and relatively minor extra costs. Errors in assembly preparations would normally be detected in succeeding operations but considerable loss of material or rework time may be involved to correct the errors. Care should be taken when operating the cranes or lifting equipment. or providing visual assist to lifting equipment operators Safety features on the departmental equipment should preclude injury to others when operating that equipment. Reasonable care when performing job duties can prevent injury to others. Accidents should they occur would be minor in nature such as bruises cuts abrasions. Work is performed in a plant/production environment where noise vibrations dirt oil grease solvents and heat are present and where expose to liquid nitrogen dry ice heights and extreme heat of equipment are to some extent disagreeable. Work is occasionally performed from elevated surfaces. Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow of work is intermittent or continuous. Accurate readings are important and may require longer periods of close visual attention. When performing the duties of this position employee must be able to bend and stoop at the waist; crouch stretch and reach lay in cylinders within a confined workspace stand kneel walk climb and rotate body. Job duties also require being able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull/parts and equipment weighing between 10 and 40 pounds (unassisted) between 15% and 40% of the time and over 40 pounds (assisted). The duties are sometimes performed in awkward positions on platforms above the assemblies or within the assemblies themselves. Must have good manual dexterity for grasping and handling tools etc. Injuries should they occur may result in loss time. Typical injuries may include crushed hands feet broken bones eye injuries chemical burns etc. Position is responsible for following all safety guidelines including harness fall protection etc. Personal protective equipment (PPE) of various types is required per the job safety analysis (JSA) throughout the work area. Safety shoes safety glasses gloves hard hat harness protective clothing are required in all production areas. A hearing and vision test may be required.
