Essential Duties & Responsibilities



Analyze construction drawings plans and project specifications to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.


Review and interpret contract terms conditions and scope requirements.


Prepare detailed well-organized estimates and proposals while meeting strict deadlines.


Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs for grading drainage utilities and asphalt paving.


Solicit review and evaluate subcontractor and material supplier quotes to ensure complete scope coverage.


Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors suppliers and clients.


Provide clarifications and identify value engineering opportunities when applicable.


Collaborate closely with field teams to ensure smooth project handoffs from estimating to construction.


Support Project Managers during the transition to field operations.


Assist the Chief Estimator with mentoring and training junior estimating staff.




Qualifications & Experience



5 years of experience in heavy civil and highway construction estimating.


Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.


Prior experience in construction estimating or a closely related field; equivalent experience will be considered.


Proficiency with estimating and take-off software including:



Microsoft Excel


AGTEK 4D


On-Screen Takeoff


BuildingConnected


HCSS HeavyBid




Self-motivated professional capable of taking ownership of estimating responsibilities.


Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.


Strong team player with long-term leadership potential and interest in advancing into executive management.


Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate guide and evaluate team members.




Additional Requirements



Must pass all required company drug and alcohol screenings.


Must be authorized to work in the United States.
