Make an Impact

The Safety and Wellbeing Specialist Home and Community partners with senior leaders to deliver strategic safety and wellbeing outcomes across the division. You will identify opportunities for improvement lead initiatives that strengthen safety culture and ensure alignment with organisational and operational priorities.

This role provides expert WHS advice and oversight ensuring compliance with legislation policies and best practice while maintaining a strong understanding of frontline operations. You will also lead the delivery of WHS projects and initiatives applying recognised project management approaches to achieve sustainable high-impact outcomes.

Key duties of this role are to:

  • Partner with Executives and senior leaders to deliver safety and wellbeing strategy across the Home and Community division.
  • Provide expert trusted advice on WHS compliance risk management and best practice.
  • Lead the design and delivery of safety and wellbeing initiatives and training that strengthen WHS culture and performance.
  • Oversee WHS incidents audits and investigations driving sustainable improvements.
  • Use safety insights and data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Influence and coach leaders to build capability and accountability for safety leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators safety committees and key stakeholders.
  • Champion safety and wellbeing through visible leadership site engagement and collaboration.

What you can bring to the team

You are a trusted safety partner who balances strong technical capability with the ability to influence coach and lead change. Youre comfortable operating strategically while staying connected to frontline realities.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • A degree diploma or certification in Workplace Health and Safety or related disciplines such as Sports Science Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
  • Significant experience (7 years) in a senior WHS role with a proven track record delivering safety outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading WHS projects and driving cultural change.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to coach influence and challenge leaders.
  • Experience across risk management audits and complex investigations.
  • The ability to analyse safety data and translate insights into practical actions.
  • Experience in disability community services or similarly complex service environments (highly regarded).

You will be required to undertake aFit2Work National Criminal History Check andhold or be willing to obtain aBlue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
