Job Description: Locum to Perm - Physician - Hematology Oncology
Join our dedicated medical team as a Hematologist Oncologist in the vibrant city of Des Moines Iowa. Our facility encompasses the MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Centers known for exceptional patient care and a commitment to community health. We are searching for a passionate professional to fill this locum-to-perm role dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients through comprehensive hematology and oncology services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide medical Hematology/Oncology coverage for 4-5 days per week.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop new treatment plans.
- Manage ongoing treatment plans and make necessary changes in therapy.
- Refer patients for ancillary services and provide end-of-life care.
- Oversee chemotherapy management and pain management services.
- Handle inpatient responsibilities at both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines.
- Participate in outreach services potentially in Newton Iowa for 6 days per month.
- Utilize telehealth services as needed to broaden patient care.
- Work efficiently with a patient volume of 10-30 daily and hospital practice census of 10-15.
- Document and manage patient records using the EPIC EMR system.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
- Active Iowa License or Active IMLC.
- Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology.
- Must have experience in the field.
- Willingness to work at both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines.
- Clean Malpractice/Background; Self-Query NPDB required.
License and Certification Requirements:
- IA Medical License required (or IMLC).
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
