Position Summary
The Product Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring product and process quality across manufacturing and repair operations. This role serves as the primary quality liaison between Manufacturing Engineering Manufacturing Operations and Supplier Quality driving defect reduction process stability and compliance to ISO 9001 requirements. The PQE leads root cause analysis corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure robust repeatable processes.

Position Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Operations Quality Support
- Act as the quality liaison between Manufacturing Engineering Manufacturing Operations and Supplier Quality.
- Interface with Manufacturing Engineers and production teams to resolve quality issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations to analyze in-process defects escapes and process deficiencies.
- Support production by providing real-time quality engineering guidance while maintaining compliance and process discipline.
Supplier Quality Interface
- Interface with Supplier Quality when supplier-related issues are identified in-house.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to initiate and drive supplier corrective actions.
- Support containment root cause verification and effectiveness reviews for supplier issues impacting production.
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
- Monitor and manage Nonconformance Report (NCR) activity.
- Lead or facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA) using structured problem-solving methods.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
Process Monitoring & Improvement
- Monitor yield defect trends and process capability metrics.
- Identify adverse trends and initiate data-driven improvement actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction process stability and operational efficiency.
Quality System & Compliance
- Drive compliance with ISO 9001 and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Perform quality review and approval of Work Instructions and process plans (including MRO activities).
- Ensure frozen process control is maintained; evaluate and approve changes through formal change control processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within manufacturing repair or MRO environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and quality management systems.
- Experience with NCR management RCA/CAPA and continuous improvement tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret yield defect and process capability data.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering operations and suppliers.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in gas turbine manufacturing power generation or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or similar problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with frozen process control and formal change management systems.
