Job Duties:

POSITION: A 100% academic staff position in Student Support Services beginning Spring Semester 2026. The official title of this position is Student Affairs Program Specialist and the working title is Student Services Coordinator.

Duties:

  • Coordinate and develop services programs/events and activities in conjunction with SSS staff to facilitate educational opportunities for SSS students that enhance retention and graduation.
  • Manage the business and finances of the SSS Office including catering room reservations supplies travel etc.
  • Advise SSS students regarding academic personal social cultural and interpersonal concerns focusing on foster students those facing homelessness and students not enrolled in a GEN 100 class.
  • Develop presentations on career-focused topics geared to first-generation low-income and students with disabilities
  • Solicit and operationalize SSS student feedback to evaluate the success of the program.
  • Attend presentations/outreach to discuss the benefits of the SSS program.
  • Oversee and assist operations of the SSS program office including supervising student employees and/or volunteers.
  • Engage with and support SSS students to help them develop a sense of belonging including organizing educational and artistic experiences.
  • Collect analyze and maintain student information and prepare reports using StudentAccess database.
  • Maintain confidential student files; maintain SSS business and financial records.
  • Serve as a resource to faculty staff students and alumni including managing the departments social media accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to promote the students academic achievement retention and graduation.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Writes edits and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
  • Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
  • Creates and maintains schedules logistics and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs activities and/or services

Compensation:

$46000 annually

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience in budgeting and knowledge of university policies and procedures regarding purchasing payroll travel arrangements financial transactions etc.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in student services.
  • Background and/or experience presenting career-focused information to students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in counseling social work or a related field
  • Experience administering and interpreting career and personality assessments (MBTI Strengths Strong Interest Inventory)
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with first generation low-income and/or students with disabilities.
  • Experience with database and engagement platforms and software such as: StudentAccess Microsoft Office Suite PeopleSoft Canva EAB Navigate
